The public education system, like any system, has room for improvement. However, getting all of our young people an education is a massive undertaking and our educators in society are rarely applauded for their individual, daily, conscientious, efforts.

The public school system is most effective when parents are involved in the education of their children. Compelling involvement is not the right answer, but school policies should facilitate as much parental involvement as possible.
